My greetings.

It all started quite some time ago with AI Suite + coretemp + AMD overclock - notifying me that my temperature in simple games goes over 65°C. Which ofcourse wasnt critical until I started to play some heavyer stuff and temperatures went up to 80°C.

I have AMD 8320 FX processor with M5A97 EVO r.2.0 motherboard and ATI R9 270X graphic card.

So beacuse I couldnt find any possible way how to make fans listen to me (manual , auto , turbo ,silent , cool'n'quiet off/on ) and all the time 3000 rpm was maximum that I could reach.

I said to my self to format the system ( same was happening in windows 8.1 and windows 7 - both legit versions with full updates ).

And I started to install software and drivers one by one and after each install I did stress test with Prime95. Until I didnt install AMD Cataclyst rpm's went up to 4200 - 4500. Once I installed CCC my fan is again stuck on 3325 rpm and my temperatures are going nuts again.

So Im asking , does anyone has a solution to this ? Did anyone encounter similiar problem ?

I would be very grateful for any advice or solution, beacuse as I can see - many many people has such issuess.

which catalyst version did you install?

is the bios version of the motherboard up to date? current one is 2603

which cpu cooler is installed? check the cpu cooler if installed correctly

did you overclock the CPU? deactivate amd overdrive in catalyst
which frequency is the CPU running?

Sir as You know - I specified what makes the problem. And that is last driver CCC Omega (14.12).

No OC was done on my sistem and I reseted all specifications in BIOS whatsoever with jumper so its 100% on optimized defaults.

And once more , after the installation of CCC fan is limited to 3325 after unistallation fan is free to run up to 5000 rpm.

And BIOS is 2501 - I cannot find 2603 - If I try to do it via software it says neverending - connecting to server .... -

Could You point me in the direction where to get Bios version 2603 to flash it?

Sir all the information I asked for have another reason.

Is the bios version of the motherboard up to date? current one is 2603
BIOS: optimized sensor readings, compatibility, bugfixes for chipset/CPU/sata/USB/VGA/fan speed...

CCC version: it includes all the drivers of AMD hardware in your system
Did you uninstall the complete catalyst or just the control center? If the whole drivers were uninstalled, the fan would spin at max. speed and the CPU would always run at full frequency.

Again:
Which cpu cooler is installed? check if the cpu cooler is installed correctly, that´s the most important thing to do, would even replace the thermal paste between CPU and cooler

Which frequency is the CPU running at?

you describe a symptom, but not the reason why the cooler has to spin that high

BIOS - IS version 2501 - Please provide me information if You can where to get 2603. Thanks in advance!
CCC: Completly uninstalled all of the AMD hardware. And no the fan doesent spin at max speed even when nothing was installed yet. ( Except motherboard drivers )

CPU cooler was with the processor beacuse I bought it in the box. As far as I know is hybrid liquid/air cooling.

Replaced thermal paste 3 times and several checkings were made if it sits correctly down on the CPU. And it does.

CPU Frequency is 1560 to 3797mhz.

Again:

My problem isnt CPU and not working stuff. My problem is that my CPU fan doesent listen to me and while graphic drivers are installed he is limited to 3325 instead of working on full speed.

Updates BIOS to 2603 - EPU disabled or Enabled Standard / Turbo / Silent / Manual fan speed , cool'n'quiet off/on - all cool until CCC is installed. Now I tryed with latest beta driver ( same crap as omega 14.02 ).

Once I uninstall all the AMD software from CCC package - cooling works normaly otherwise fan is stuck on 3325.

Speedfan - Tryed it , but I simply dont find a way to adjust the speed of the fan. I also tryed to adjust speed manually in AMD overdriver ( but it simply doesent listen until the CCC is installed ). Once is off , I can switch to manual and 100% and it is spinning like crazy. If CCC is on simply ignores every single command what is connected with cpu fan and speed of cooling.

And problems with new BIOS 2603 - He doesent remember the settings. Tryed many times. Remembers it and then after 2-3 reboots jumps to optimized defaults. Battery checked.

Everything done. Now everything is working. But once I install CCC again limited to 3325 rpm. Its problem in CCC. Tryed few versions - tryed formatting - 3325 limit on rpm. Totaly most wierd thing I've encountered in last several years...

Thank You for all Your help helpstar. I just did this ( we hade the same thoughts ) and installed only display driver without CCC. Working normaly :)

I hope however this major bug will be fixed in future :)
