I have a dell optilex 755 Desktop and I want to add 2gb extra ram, but there x2 1gb ram cards installed, will i get 4gb ?

If your board has 4 DIMM slots and not 2, yes. But for best results you always want to populate dual channel systems like yours with MATCHED pairs of memory. Dual Channel is very picky about the speed, timings, voltages, etc being identical. If you have 2 sticks in use now and add a 3rd stick, you may lose dual channel memory speed. The RAM may revert to single channel mode.

I've ordered 1 2gb RAM stick, there are x2 1gb sticks currently installed so will this give me 4gb ram or?

It should provide you with 4GB, yes. But it may be at the slower single channel mode. I hope the stick you ordered is a close match to the ones you have in service now.

all i know is the ram i ordered is pc2 and the ram installed already is pc2?

Well, since you already ordered it, you'll know if you ordered the right stuff soon enough. Did you order DDR2 or DDR3? What does your motherboard require?
