Need Help/Advice with upgrading my PC

Hi, so I have a Lenovo Erazer X315 PC. The specs are: AMD A8-7600 Processor 3.1 GHz (overclocked to 3.6)
8 GB DDR3 RAM
1 TB 7200 rpm Hard Drive, 8 GB Solid State Drive
AMD ATI Radeon R9 255 2GB Graphics
Windows 8.1

I'm wanting to upgrade most of the parts. I have chosen a GTX 960 graphics card, an Intel i7 4790k processor, and 4 more GB of RAM. But I need help about the CPU/Motherboard.

So as I have read, the i7 requires a 1150 LGA socket on the motherboard. I *think* my computer has a Lenovo Bantry CRB motherboard, but hardly any specs are given. Therefore, I don't know what socket type it has. If I could save ~160 dollars by not needing a new motherboard for the i7, that would really help my wallet. So when I remove the case on my computer, will the socket type be on the physical motherboard? I just want to make sure I can use these new parts I want before actually purchasing them. So to sum it up:

-New motherboard or no for i7 4790k CPU?
-Bigger case or will all of these parts fit well with each other?
-Am I choosing good parts?
-Is the RAM, CPU, motherboard, and graphics card the only things I should upgrade or are there some other parts I don't know about that should be upgraded?
-Any other tips/advice

Thanks
-Ethan

I would plan on a new MB and case. It will be difficult to rebuild in a propietary case from Lenovo. I would also plan on a new PSU and not to reuse the Lenovo one as most of these are not too good.

Save the money on the 4790k, and go down to a i5-4690K. It should be more than enough processor for most things. Plan on new RAM. Reuse your hard drives, but you will need a new copy of Windows. Choose a MB that works with the i5-4690k.

PC Part Picker works well to plan out the build, and you can post your proposed build here for us to go over before you commit.

Hey, thanks for the response. I did some research and I did decide on saving a bit and getting an i5. I made my upgrade build on PC Part Picker. I added a MB, case, and PSU to my upgrade list. Here's the link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tYK6dC
