So a couple days ago, I built my parents a cheap computer basically only for watching Netflix and watching movies and such and it started out well. Running Ubuntu 14.04, 3 gigs of RAM, 1.8 Celeron processor (working on upgrading to a 2.8 Pentium D) 120 gigs HDD a cheap graphics card and a PCIE wireless card. All was good till yesterday I was turning it on, then the power cord was knocked out of the socket, I didn't think much of it it it wouldn't boot up on the next power on. This was especially weird as every time I had turned it off previously, it booted up. This time, it powers on, HDD activity light that worked as normal as it should previously, was now constantly lit, and no beeping of any sort. So I turn to the most helpful place I know, if anyone knows what this is and how to solve it, it'd be greatly appreciated as we are currently watching Breaking Bad. Thanks in advance!

Okay, uh, I'll try to do my best as these are just parts from other computers that I've used previously just mashed together.
Mobo: This is difficult, It's from this PC http://www.computershopper.com/desktops/reviews/emachines-et1810-03
CPU: Not from that PC, it's a 1.8 Ghz LGA 775 Intel Celeron
PSU: COOLMAX CXI-600B 600W ATX12V ATX 12V
The MOBO and CPU are both from '09, whilst the others are unknown.

You can save alot of hassle, for only $249 you can get either a Laptop (ohhh wow no wires! thanks son/daughter!) or desktop at Walmart that can do that just as much as a $149 get them a KINDLE especially if they read alot, and it can handle the same movies (Netflix) and get on the Internet, all in a 'book' format they can be easily used to as well (besides again, not being tied down to one spot).

Haha, Trust me, they have a laptop but only my mother uses it and for work mostly. I thought that I'd just set up a tiny media computer for them. I have looked at it now, and I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do. I've tried everything in my knowledge to make that HDD light not be on continuously and all of my efforts have failed, I may end up taking it to a local PC fixer to see his input on the situation. I believe it may be something to do with the motherboard, as it seems like the MOBO doesn't want to boot up. Idk, I'll report back after I get it checked out!
