I want a computer that can play games at the highest settings for years. I have a small youtube channel and I decided to balls to the wall and get a $2500 computer. I need 1 more monitor (24in, IPS, not for gaming) and I would like to have 2-4tb of storage space. I also need a good mechanical keyboard. I want it to be as quiet as possible so I can record without the hum of a computer.

Since I'm in college, can this be a smal computer? A medium size case or smaller without going over budget.

Solution
Well, For a 2500$ compact build this is my recommendation (It's not that small, but it's easy to move around) :

I thought its supposed to be an i7 for streaming? Doesn't over clocking make the computer a lot better too? Because you can't over clock a Xeon. I'm so confused now

And you absolutely don't need a xeon, it's not for you, this is the build to go with, trust me. :)

Ok that makes sense. Would it be worth it to go full ATX and get an i7-4790k so I can over clock? I might be able to make some room on my desk for it.

This looks really nice. My friend (im on skype with him) said that I should get the Corsair H100i because he has it and he can over clock to 5 GHz with it. Should I get that instead?

I don't want ITX because I'm not the best at cable management and it doesn't need to be that small.

First of all sorry for the mess, I edited the original post :)
and about the H100i, yes, it is great (corsair fanboy here :D ) but the Swiftech H220-X is an absolute marvel of engineering, it is the successor to the H220 and it is of the best cpu coolers on the market!

Oh ok it seems amazing. Do I need to buy thermal paste for it?

I do not think so, Most (If not all) CPU Coolers these days include high quality thermal paste.
Also, LinusTechTips has some great step-by-step build guides, so check some of them out before trying to build your system, it helps a lot.
Good luck with your build mate. :)

I'm watching one right now. I've also helped my friend build his computer so I kind of know what to do. I'm planning on building my computer while I watch LinusTechTips

:3 That is great!
By the way check the define r5's compatibility with your parts, I am quite sure of it, but it never hurts to double check, does it? :)

Yeah man that case is fantastic, I'd totally go for it with an ATX build it's actually my own case xD, but the OP wanted a small case so that's why I recommended the R5.

Everything looks like it fits. Thanks

And MisterSprinkles the R5 has noise dampening material inside of it, so that will help when the system is under load. I use the Blue Yeti so it picks up a lot of noise (it sits on my desk about 2 feet away because I don't have one of those swivel things)

What if I got a few Noctua fans? They're supposed to be really quiet right?
