just a moment ago it notified me that the startup disc is almost full and deleted some apps, pictures and things, it is still almost full.

installed an app that graphically shows the sise of some of the data and the first one that occupies the most space is from tf2 document i play it a lot thats not a problem , but the second one is a "ASl"

im thinking on deleting it but i don`t know what purpose it serves on my laptop, so can some one tell me what does it does on my laptop and should i delete it ?

the direction to the files is :
macintoshHD/private/var/log/asl

ASL stands for Apple System Log. These files can be safely deleted, but will be recreated over time. The question is why you have such a large log. You might want to examine the logs to see which messages are filling them.
