So I fixed a computer for someone I work with. It involved reinstalling the OS. I had finished installing it and got everything running smoothly.

I returned it to him and everything was fine for 3-4 weeks, but then he came back to me and told me he left his computer on and had a power outage causing his computer to shutoff, when he tried turning it back on, it now asked for a password which is strange as I never set a password.

He handed it back to me to look at and sure enough, for some reason the bios is requiring a password to enter the pc, he said he didnt do it and that it just started requiring it.

Now, his computer is laptop (Battery doesnt hold charge thus why it died when power went out), its a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7422, model PSAFGU-020002

Any ideas on how I can remove the bios password? If it requires opening it up, that isnt too much of a problem.

Removing power to the BIOS resets it to factory settings and involves disconnecting a small battery attached to the motherboard. On many laptops, the BIOS battery is easily accessible through a door on the bottom of the unit. Unplug the computer, remove the main battery and touch something metal to ground yourself.

Remove any screws holding the BIOS battery door in place. Then identify the battery -- it is generally a small lithium watch-type battery -- and remove it, taking care not to damage any surrounding circuitry. Let the computer rest for a minute or two to discharge any remaining power and replace the battery.

If your laptop does not have an easily accessible door for the BIOS battery, you may have to dive deeper and disassemble the computer to find it. Consult your laptop manufacturer's website for information on replacing or removing the BIOS battery for your model.
