hi Experts,

Im about to buy this but worry it wont work with my motherboard for some reason:
Dominator® Platinum Series — 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 2133MHz C9 Memory Kit (CMD16GX3M2A2133C9)

Link

I am using 2133MHz Corsair Dominator GT 2x4GB now. Want to go to 16Gb and only use 2 sticks. Will the Dominator Platinum work?

I have a Samsung 830 256Gb SSD as my OS drive.
I also have 2 Seagate 3Tb drives in Raid 1 mirror for storage.
What is the best practice for backing things up?
Currently I have no back up for my SSD OS drive. Should I get software to back it up to my Seagate mirror? If said SSD was to die I would likely just buy a newer SSD and would likely want to do a fresh install. So does backing up my current SSD even make sense?
Should I instead focus on either turning my RAID 1 into a RAID 10 by getting 2 more 3Tb Seagate drives, or would it be better to just get a large external back up drive for my storage?

Raid 5 is better for backup raid if you can put 3 or more drives in the computer. Also do not mix drives in raid it can make for a mess unless you know what you are doing. As for the SSD you should be fine however if you want to upgrade to a 850 pro you can do that as well or get a raid 1 with another ssd. Personally I dont really like software backups but they work fine for most people.

What do you mean RAID 5 is better? My understanding is that RAID 10 has both speed & redundancy. Requires 4 of the same drives.
Does RAID 5 on require 3 of the same drives? So I would just need to get 1 more Seagate 3Tb?

Which of these will work/would you buy for my motherboard? They are all 2133 Cas 9 not sure if there is faster stuff I should get.
