No peripherals working for newly installed motherboard (please help!)

Hello y'all,

Recently I installed a new motherboard (same model - Z87-G45) in a computer that was previously working but experiencing random crashes.

Upon installing new motherboard and attempting the first boot: no peripherals seem to be working, including monitor, keyboard, mouse. No speaker beeps.

Then I took out the ram and received the 3 short beeps, so it appears to be POSTing.

I would appreciate any help in diagnosing what the possible problem could be. Thank you!

Yes, I believe so. Are you recommending I put my ram back in and take out my video card and try to boot with just the integrated graphics? I will do that when I get back from work. Assuming I still receive an error (as I think it's unlikely it's my video card that's the problem), what do I do next?

Tried it with no video card, monitor connected to onboard video. 1 stick of ram in.

Same problem. Will boot, fans spin, no beeps, no peripherals working.

What do I do next?

Ok thank you, tried that. Disconnected all drive cables. Cleared the cmos as well. Replaced the single stick of ram with known working ram in another computer. None of those things worked.

Still same issue on start-up.

Is it possible that I received a bad a motherboard or that somehow my CPU is broken? What more tests can I run? Does it matter that I have a dvi-d connection for the monitor. Should I be using a VGA or does that no matter in this day and age?

Reseeded/reseated my CPU. Didn't have an effect. Looked long and hard at the pins on the mobo and connectors on the cpu, and they all looked good and uniform.

Not sure what I can do yet short of send the mobo back to MSI.
