I would go for the r9 270x because it is more powerful. Just because you have twork cards does not mean you will get better performance than a single powerful card. You will only get extra Vram. Most of that vram will not be utilised anyway.
Hope this helped ;)

That is exactly the opposite of what happens in Crossfire, the two GPU's are utilised, but the VRAM pool is not combined. A 260x crossfire still only has 2GB VRAM.

However, 260x falls completely outside of the category of 'cards worth SLI or Crossfiring', I would definitely recommend getting a single 270x, or perhaps even better single GPU solution. Crossfire profiles has been lacking lately from AMD and there are some crossfire issues that is not worth the headaches with a pair of low powered cards.

for AMD these days, the cards I generally would consider crossfiring are 290 or 290x, any lower isn't really worth it.

Very heavily depends on the game, some games you may get double fps boost (Crysis for example), some games you get maybe half, some you may not get any at all.

LOL

OP, if I were you I'd recommend either getting an R9 280/280X or waiting until the R9 300 series as the rebrands in that series should be cheaper for more powerful cards. If you have a 260X now, sell it.

I agree. It is better to get a r9 280 or 280x than to get 2 260x's as you will get more performance for your money.

If you really really want that 260x then go get it but we can not promise you anything. If it was not what you expected then it is your own fault. We are not responsible for the damage you cause to your own mentality.
