Hi i am looking to build myself a gaming PC for under $2k and need your help in deciding what parts to use. So far i am thinking this.It will be used to play all the latest and upcoming games at 1080p.

Intel Core i5-4690k 3.5Ghz CPU
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo
MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1866mhz
ASUS STRIX-GeForce GTX 980 4GB
Crucial MX100 2.5" 512GB SATA III MLC SSD
WD BLACK 2TB 7200 RPM HDD
EVGA SuperNOVA 850W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply
NZXT Guardian 921 Black Steel,ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1ms LED 3D Monitor
CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle
ASUS 24X DVD Burner
I might add another gtx 980 in the future if necessary hence the higher wattage power supply but for now one would suffice.
Do give your suggestions if there's anything i should change in this build. I am hoping this build would last me for the next 5 years atleast. Thanks for reading and looking forward for your suggestions.

Your build looks great. But won't gtx 970 having 3.5gb vram affect its SLI performance?
Also the monitor you suggested is too expensive and big. I am more comfortable with 24 inches.
Also you have suggested non K i5 so it won't be as future proof as the K model so i will go with the unlocked cpu for future overclocking.
So the question remains whether to go for single 980 or two 970's?
