I recently bought an Overlord Tempest x2700c to replace my 1080p monitor. I have an r9 290 and it's doing a pretty good job at running games at 1440p. After staring at my old 1080p monitor for a while it finally hit me to set it up alongside my Overlord Tempest(duh). So here's my question, should I run the 1080p monitor over integrated graphics so my gpu doesn't need to work as hard or will it not make a big difference? Will I experience a big FPS drop in games if I run both monitors over my R9 290?

I'm only planning on using the 1080p monitor for web browsing and for spotify while I game, so nothing graphically demanding on it.

CPU: i5-4690k
GPU: R9-290
RAM: 16GB DDR3 2400

Simple answer: No.

It won't really effect the FPS unless you are doing something really cpu-intensive on the other screen. I have the Sapphire R9 270X running 2 screens and I have great FPS. :)
