Hi, I have only had HDD Drives in the past and never upgraded. My HDD are fine and work great but I am wanting to upgrade to SSD and SSHD to boost performance. I game a lot and multitask a lot so wanting to get the best I can out of my computer.

I have a decent computer setup but just need to upgrade my drives and monitor.

The SSD will be used for windows 7+programs like firefox, steam etc.

The SSHD will be used for gaming purposes and storage of music, pictures and videos.

I am wanting to buy a 128gb-256gb ssd. I am also wanting to buy a SSHD which is over 500gb.

If there is a drive which costs a bit more than the predecessor? then I will most likely go for that.

I am not sure about my price range at the moment but under £150 for both would be fine. If I can go cheaper around £100 then that would be even better!

What are some good SSD and SSHD to buy? If you can give me suggestions on what 2 drives to buy? Thank you for your help :)

My current setup I have a 1TB SSHD for my boot drive and then an SSD that I put anything that I want to be fast on it. The SSHD keeps boot times pretty low and the OS access is pretty quick since those are the most commonly accessed things on it anyway and then I have the whole SSD for my gaming/programs that I want to always be fast.

Think about it this way: How many times do you really start your machine and does it really matter if it takes 10 seconds or 15 seconds for windows to load? Especially when you are used to it talking a minute from a regular spinning disk?

I have quiet alot of games so think it would be better to use SSHD.

Or should I put my games and windows 7/programs in the SSD and Music etc on the SSHD. I have around 120gb in music. And probably about the same in my games.

You could pay a bit extra and get a 240GB OCZ ARC 100 or a 250GB Crucial BX100, with the 1TB SSHD, you'll pay around £130, or you can spend about £140 in total and get a 250GB Samsung 850 EVO.

If you want to go all out, go for the 1TB SSHD and a 240GB Sandisk Extreme PRO, it's currently the fastest SATA-3 client SSD.

Think I'm going to go for the 250gb samsung and 1tb SSHD. I would love the Extreme but I think upgrading from HDD will be alot of difference eitherway and wouldn't have to buy the most expensive.

I don't have the best graphics card or processor so that would be better to save for if I upgrade after. Currently have 7870xt sapphire and i5-3570k which is great so far but maybe in a year I will upgrade to i7 or something better. Thanks for the help.
