I recently installed a new SSD into my desktop and cloned the OS from hard drive to my SSD. My main problem, however, is that I cannot access my BIOS/UEFI settings. I can access my BIOS/UEFI, but not my settings, It says that I have to unlock my BIOS/UEFI with an administrative password yet I never made a password for it. At one point, I had Linux Ubuntu 14.04 installed on it but I deleted it off my system and a did a system restart. I really need to access my BIOS but I do not know what to do. Is there a way I can reset my BIOS/UEFI?

Hi
What is exact make & model of PC

Most standard pc's can have cmos reset clearing any passwords on entry into bios

Most business class laptops do not store passwords for user or admin bios password in cmos

The manufacturer or authorised agents will be able to clear password but will require documentary proof you are the legitimate owner of the laptop

Older laptops could have password guessed due to a bug in bios, which seems to be fixed on recent bios/Uefi

By rules of Toms hardware We are not allowed to help you crack bios or windows passwords
