I would like to ask if I can overclock E3-1230v3 because I am planning to buy "G.SKILL TridentX Extreme F3-2400C10Q-32GTX DDR3 2400MHz 32GB Kit (4x8GB)".
I am new to overclocking and the only thing I know is that if I don't overclock the RAM, they will just stay at 1600MHz.
Is it necessary to overclock my CPU in order to use the 2400MHz RAM?
It will be great if I don't need to buy another CPU.
