You did do a good job you got an H97 board for a locked cpu which is the cheapest and best way to go and you picked a good power supply which is where most people like to skimp out i cant tell you how many people i have seen with a nice system like that and some 20 dollar ebay power supply.

Maybe the hard drive, the WD Greens are pretty slow they are meant for low power servers, a WD caviar blue 7200rpm or seagate barracuda 7200rpm would be a bit better or even an SSD if you have the money for one. And is that ram split up? You want 2x4gb so you can take advantage of duel channel mode. Other than that i wouldn't change a thing.

I could never go back to a hard drive after using an SSD i have been spoiled by it, but you dont really need it is only going to help with boot times, load times in games, and how fast applications open other than that it wont do much. I just like having my computer boot in under 10 seconds and being the first one in a match in multiplayer games, its unnecessary sure but it is nice to have.

You dont have to get a large SSD, just get a 128GB SSD (about $50) for your boot drive (install your OS and stuff on this) and then get a 1TB+ Hard Disk drive for your games and media. An SSD will make your system alot more responsive. I built a budget PC recently and before it use to take like 2 or 3 min for the system to boot up. Added a SSD for the boot drive and the boot time change to 10 to 20 seconds and everything was alot more responsive as well. You really have to use an SSD to notice the difference.

For me I recommend getting a Hard Drive mainly for media like videos and stuff and for games (mainly steam). I have like five 2 TB hard drives, four of which are for videos. One is for all my steam games, Two of them are for my Anime, one is for my TV series and the last one is for "other" stuff.
