Best Linux Distro AMD A10-5757

Solution
i suggest that you go for the same Linux distribution as the people who have a significantly better gaming experience on Linux than Windows. I'm afraid that I can't suggest which distribution that might be as my experience is that - taking everything into account - gaming is a significantly worse experience on Linux.

When I say "taking everything into account" I mean the selection of games that run on Linux and the ease of installing and running them as well as performance. I've never found performance a hinderance on either platform.

Only a small percentage of games run natively in Linux. If the ones you play are, go for it.
Linux is significantly different than Windows, no matter what distro.

Why do some people have better experiences gaming on Linux than Windows?

This depends on a whole host of things.
1. Their PC. How crapped up is their Windows install?
2. The specific game. Some are optimized better one way or the other.
3. Are the games YOU want available on the Linux platform? And no, I'm not going to look them up for you. That's your job.

You might as well ask:
"Why do some people have better experiences gaming on Windows than Linux?"

Since you have a relatively new processor with relatively new graphics you will want a distrobution that has a newer kernel/driver+firmware. Ubuntu 15.04, Fedora 21, ArchLinux, OpenSuse... etc

Suggest starting Ubuntu 15.04, as it is the easiest to get steam running.

Anyone saying games do not work well on Linux are crazy. Games work just fine and in many cases better than windows.
Currently there are 1977 games on Linux available through steam:

I would suggest you pick up a better graphics processor if you are going to be gaming though.

Of course not, some developers do not care about Linux! This is why I bought a PS4.

Mostly I only use my PC for matlab and R. I don't care if some developer won't releae for Linux, they just won't get my money.

My Flight Simulator X (for instance) says differently.

I've corrected that for you.

Some games do work well on Linux, and some don't; it all depends upon the game in question. And I'm afraid that it is doing a disservice to Linux to pretend otherwise.
