I have a Dell XPS 720. I just purchased a Gigabyte GTX 960 and it has a 6 pin connector and an 8 pin connector. I have two 6 pin connectors free and a molex. The card came with a 6 pin to 2 molex, and a 8 pin to 2 molex cables. PSU has 750w, so I am not looking to upgrade unless I have to. This is the first time I've purchased a card that you had to do more than just plug it in. Thanks for the answers.

The reference GTX 960 only requires a single 6 pin. The Evga GTX 960 FTW I have on another machine is about the fastest of the 960s and it only requires a single 8 pin. The added power pins are designed for more OC'ing headroom, but I think Gigabyte is being a bit over optimistic ;-)
With the 75W available at the slot, a six pin and an 8 pin will allow for 300W of power! My R9-290X is only 300W.
