DVI-I to VGA transform into DVI-D

Hello i need to acces the BIOS of my motherboard and as it does not work with HDMI i need to use a dvi to vga adapter however i have a dvi-i adpater and my new video card is dvi-d and i looke a bit on it

Then i thought they are almost the same the difference from the first is that it has 4 more smaller pins, after it i thought in removing those 4 pins, would it work? :??:

at your own risk [I did this in a emergency] you can take needle nose pliers and carefully remove the 4 pins around the flat post -- no guarantees but it has worked for me

then it should work as a dvi-d to hdmi , but adaptors still can be funny and eaven if you had the correct one it may still not work

the full cable is overall best

if your trying to go hdmi to hdmi lots of folks find it don't work out and may require driver support [ as seeing you cant get in to install drivers yet ]
