How do you paint computer parts including case?

I've never seen any guidelines about painting a computer but I imagine it is pretty much the same as painting anything - proper cleaning, proper surface preparation, and using the proper paint for the material being painted so that it won't have a detrimental effect on the surface being painted and will adhere properly.

An additional consideration might be heat buildup caused by added paint if you don't strip the components beforehand. That wouldn't typically be a problem with a case but it's worth considering for any internal parts you are intending to paint.

And be absolutely certain to use the proper kind of paint for any internal components so that there aren't any electrical or static electricity problems.

You didn't say exactly what you want to paint so it could be a daunting task to get all of that information for all of the components that make up a computer.

Thanks thx1138v2, is plastidip a good choice?
I'll be painting the rams, the cover of the graphics card (not the fans themselves), the case, the PSU, maybe the cables.

@ffg7, so that it would look cool when I open or when I show it to a friend. I'm thinking of black and white them, so I'll maybe buy msi krait edition because I wouldn't be able to paint any mobo parts, this one already comes in black in white.

Bad, bad, bad idea if you ever want to run it again. It will be OK if you just want to look at it without ever powering it up again. Plastidip will more than likely cause all of those components to overheat. I'm not sure what it will do electrically but I'm pretty sure you'll have to buy new RAM afterwards.
