as long as they are the same model and make you should be fine. However i have recently bought ram with the idea of upgrading later only to find my ram was discontinued. Keep in mind that if that happens because you wait to long you'll end up needing to buy 2 new sticks because in my experience mixing and matching ram has poor results and compatibility.

I did think about that. It'll only be a month or so after that I get the second one so surely they couldn't discontinue it that quickly! Thanks :)
