Hey All,

I'm currently in the works to build a gaming/4K video editing computer and will need some nice RAM.

I've decided my motherboard will be: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132116&cm_re=asus_z97-_-13-132-116-_-Product

Processor: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369&cm_re=4790k-_-19-117-369-_-Product

The specs of the motherboard says it'll support 2400 but I was just wondering if I'm missing something. Keep in mind I'll be buying two sets of the RAM so 32GB of RAM total. I'm think this set: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-231-589
Thanks all.

Not sure where you got the 2400 from.If it is in relation to the maximum frequency of the memory supported then unless you are using an iGPU, then there is no point spending any more for higher memory frequency. Also, if you want to have 32GB of ram, then you should buy a 32gb (4x8GB) kit. You can run into problems if the memory is not matched

As per the previous messages. If wanting 32 GB of memory, it is best to get a single matched module kit to ensure module compatibility. Using two separate kits does not guarantee module compatibility.

Some possible memory kits are -

G.Skill F3-2400C11Q-32GXM @ 2400 MHz

Crucial BLS4K8G3D18ADS3 @ 1866 MHz

Mushkin 994123R @ 2400 MHz
Mushkin 994123 @ 2400 MHz
Mushkin 994123F @ 2400 MHz
Mushkin 994123Y @ 2400 MHz
Mushkin 994122 @ 2400 MHz
Mushkin 994122R @ 2400 MHz
Mushkin 994122F @ 2400 MHz
