Hi,
I have F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
Which is 2x4gb.
I was wondering whether this would be compatible with F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL
As my motherboard doesn't support ddr4.

Thanks I advance for your expertise and attention.

DDR4 support has nothing to do with this question. The 2 models of RAM will likely work just fine in the same system. Just be sure to install them in the proper matching slots for your motherboard.

Ideally, you should use matched memory in all slots. Or, at least, in the paired slots.

Any time you mix sets of DRAM - it's a crapshoot, even with identical packages of the same exact model. They might work or might not, there's no guarantees, even from the manufacturer, that's why they offer a wide variety of package sizes - all in a package have been tested to work together.

So you suggest scrapping the existing 8GB and get a nrw 16GB set to be sure it works?

Also within the realm of DDR3, would you suggest a better set should I choose to get a new 16 pack?
