I am trying to configure access point for more coverage but I am little confused with what IP address to choose.
Let's say my router has the range of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.100, should I choose any ip between 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.99 or should I choose outside of that range?

You would give them a unique address. You could use 101, 102, etc. I like to put the network hardware up at the high addresses, 250, 251, etc but that is just a personal preference. I also keep a spreadsheet with the MAC address and IP address for all static IPs on my home network (20+).

Multiple access points with the same SSID makes troubleshooting more difficult. I would recommend different SSIDs during installation. Once everything is setup, go back and set them the same.

Are you using APs that are intended to work together (Ubiquiti, Engenius, etc) ?

Yes I am using them to work together and also silly question,
Can you use access point without Router? I have gateway so should I just use
Modem-gateway-access point ??
Or do I have to have router?

You didn't answer the question, I asked ... are these multiple access points DESIGNED to work in multiples? Standard home hardware is not designed to be part of a set of access points. The brands I mentioned ARE designed to be part of a system. If you are using standard home APs, you may not get seamless roaming between them. You may have issues where a device will stick to an AP even through there is another one closer with better signal. If that is the case you may nave to have different SSIDs and manually choose the AP.

You do need a router. It is the device that allows many local devices to share one internet connection.

I think I kind of figured it All out and I just have 1 questions.
I am using six APs and I want to know if I should just leave channel on auto or not. I found out that I should use 1 6 or 11 but how do I use that on six APs? Like 1,6 11 and repeat for the other 3 or just mix it up?

I'd leave them all on auto, unless there's enough distance between them that you can select 1, 6, 11 and have enough distance between devices.

If they support 5Ghz, you can give each a totally separate channel.

Thank you guys for the help. I configured about 3 of them and they are working fine.
I have changed the IP Address and some common ones, like SSID, Password and all that. and left most of them on default settings so
should I make any other changes or this would be fine?
