Guys, Im not sure either this is the correct sub forum or not.. PLEASE HELP!

My office are using an old HP PC, running on Windows VISTA (yeah, I know..). My Boss asked me to install Dual-Boot Windows there, with Windows 7 as the 2nd OS without touching the Vista OS. After I did a new partition on the hard disk, I installed the Windows 7 without boot, straight installation through Windows. The process is very slow, and as the office is closing, I cancelled the installation and restarted the PC.

And here is the problem. After restart, the PC goes into loop mode showing HP Restore & Factory Reset (..something like that). There's an option to restore from checkpoint, and when I click on it, I can still see there's old OS (Drive C: ) on the disk. That means the Vista OS is still there, right??

If I continue on installing Windows 7, and again select to install on the new partition, will I still be able to run both Windows Vista & Windows 7 in dual-boot?

Thanks!

It sounds like it may have screwed up the MBR when you cancelled the install. Try running the repair install from the recovery screen to fix the MBR. If that fails then put the vista install disc in and do a repair install or do the full install of 7 on the other partition you were installing 7 into. That should give you access to your dual boot screen.
