Jello everyone. I am having an issue. I'm customizing a prebuilt PC and I've already bought and had GeekSquad install a Corsair CX750M PSU. Because hindsight is 20/20 and I just ordered an r9 280 off newegg...I have realized that this unit supposedly does not have 2 PCI-E 6-pin slots, but does have 4 8-Pin slots.

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2015/01/21/corsair_cx750_750w_power_supply_review/2#.VSgO1ZMuc-I this review is how I noticed, as I got lost in all the greek on the back and even when I consulted friends beforehand, it never came up or I forgot. I mostly was paying attention to things related to capacity.

Either way, I need to know if perhaps I can use the 8-Pin slots in the 6-Pin connector's place or if I need to shell out another $80+ and $30 for installation next time I have the dough.

Solution
The 8 pin connectors are actually 6+2 pins. You can snap the 2 pins off to the side and use the 6 pins that you need.

Where can I buy one of these cables? I can't seem to find one that is just what you're image is showing: 6-pin to 6+2-pin. I have tried Amazon, CDW, and Newegg and can't seem to find this configuration. All I can find is extensions, converters, and Y-splits, but I can't find a simple 6-pin to 6+2pin cable anywhere. I have an Alienware Area 51 R2 and I want to connect a 3rd Nvidia 980 GTX PCI-e card to the power supply.
