Spending too much on CPU for a mid range graphics card, I'd suggest the cheapest i5 4th generation CPU out there. This is a solid rig for running new demanding games on mid settings at 1080p like farcry 4 and battle field 4. If you want to run such games on ultra settings at 1080p I suggest you get a gtx 970 instead, which will cost you around $100 more.

That PSU is low quality. It will power the system, but I recommend better. Get a higher tier model from this list http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html.

Also, for a gaming machine, you typically want to spend 1.5->2 times the cost of the CPU on the GPU. So if the CPU cost $200, you want a GPU that is $300. If you are using the computer for more GPU specific tasks (coding, video/media editing) then ignore that.

One more thing is you want at least 2 sticks of memory. It is better to have 2x4GB ram instead of 1x8GB so you have dual channel capabilities. Even if it is a tiny bit more expensive, the 2x4GB is better.

if this is purely for gaming.....

so do you recommend for me getting a cheaper cpu and get a better gpu instead ? and if so what cpu should i pick
and also what about the motherboard is it good ?
and thanks for telling me about the ram i really didn't know that
and i think gtx 960 can run bf4 and far cry 4 at a playable frame rate on ultra (30+ fps) so what do you think ? ,i'm also goin to get gta5 will the 960 run it on ultra ? and if the cpu is changed to a lower one with less money what is the replacement i should make for the gpu ?
thanks everyone for answering

What everyone is trying to say is that an i3 CPU should work well enough with a Geforce GTX 960. If you want to game with an i5, then a Geforce GTX 970 or a Radeon 290X is a better match.

The 960 can do BF4/etc at very high or low ultra settings on that 1080p monitor. A Radeon 290X or Geforce GTX 970 could manage ultra just fine.

My perspective on it is to just go with the 960 if you plan on upgrading the video card in a year or two. I am still running the same CPU that I got 4 years ago now, just with a Geforce GTX 970. It started with a Radeon 5870 when I built it. Of course my CPU is overclocked.

As far as power supplies go, the power supply tier list that was mentioned by gilbadon is a very good reference. If you can afford it, this is an excellent PSU:

the 290 is much much faster than the 960. like i said, if gaming is all your concerned with, a basic i5 offers plenty of non gaming horsepower and wont hold a 290 back at all in gaming. the 290 is generally meant for 1440p gaming, similar to my 780, and i have little problems with 1440p gaming with my rig.
