Hey guys,

I bought a PC on the ebay for 600€.
Specs:
AMD FX8320
Biostar A960D+
8GB Hynix 1333mhz <--- ONLY 1x 4GB Stick
Club 3D 7870

Today I was cleaning my PC and saw that AMD Overdrive is showing that I have only 4GB

I checked the Memory Stick. It is a http:// with ONLY 4GB.

I want to ask why W7 is showing that I have 8GB

when my Memory Stick is 4GB.

PS: Sry for my bad English

OK. The link shows the Hynix memory chips used on the memory module. The chip density is 4 Gb (that is 4 Giga bits). Referring to the data sheet, SDRAM part number H5TC4G43AFR is composed of 1G (depth) x 4 bit (width) = 4Gbits).

If the memory module is a standard UDIMM with 64 bit data width, then there has to be 64 bit/4 bit = 16 SDRAM chips mounted on the module. So, total module capacity has to be -

16 SDRAM chips x 4 Gbits/chip = 64 Gbits, which is equivalent to 64 Gbits/8 bits = 8 GB (that is 8 Giga bytes).

The module should be of 8 GB total capacity. So Windows is reporting the correct capacity.
