Hi everyone,

I've just had a second hand CPU and motherboard delivered as I'm upgrading my system. I'm currently using a Raijintek Triton water cooler and I've also bought some rotating 90deg fittings for the cooler as the tubing is a bit soft a kinks a little at the block.

Now my question. I'll need to drain the loop to put in the rotating fittings. I've done some research and it appears distilled water is the best however I believe my rad is aluminium and block is nickel plated copper. I know aluminium is bad for corrosion but that's what I have. What do I add to the distilled water and in what quantities? I've read people say 10-20% antifreeze for the corrosion etc but opinions seem to vary greatly. Can you use standard automotive antifreeze? What about biocide? Or for 6 months before I change the fluid/cooler is that not necessary?

Major issue though. I get married in a week and will be away on honeymoon for a few weeks so really need to get my upgrades in to check they work in case I need to send them back. That means ideally I need to find stuff I can use in local shops this weekend as I can't gamble on deliveries as I still have to work this week. I know bad planning but the upgrades were a steal and also a wedding gift from my soon to be wife!

I do plan to invest in a custom loop in about 6 months time though.

Thanks in advance!
