Hello,

I have a PC with these specs:
Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33Ghz
4 GB DDR3 Ram
Nvidia Quadro FX 1700 512 MB
700 GB Seagate Barracuda
Win XP 32 bit

I use ASC Monitor which shows the temperature of various components, and I was windering if 75 C is safe for my GPU? I have limited my fps when playing games to 60, but it is still around 75 C. I have also look just about everywhere for an answer, but either I have missed it or the safe load temp is not mentioned anywhere. Thanks for any assistence.

P.S. I know my setup isn't meant for gaming (after all, it's an almost-maxed-out late-model Optiplex 780), but it's the best PC in the house and I just got it a month ago. I also realize that x64 Win 7 (or even x64 XP) would be better for it, but again, that would cost money I do not have.

This is Ethobling again, using the same card, but now on STO. I am getting into the 86C temp range (that is its max according to Afterburner with the fan speed bumped manually from 60% to 70%). Ik you said to worry about when it gets to 95C, but what about 85-90? Also, can I rely on Afterburner's automatic fan speed adjuster to make sure my GPU doesn't overheat when I am in an intense fight? Ty all.

P.S. And yes, ik it is an old, crappy card meant for business, not casual gaming.

P.P.S. I know you know. ;)
