This only happens when I play games, idle it's just fine. but according to Open hardware monitor nothing exceeds 30 degrees C. But event viewer gives me event 6008 which can be caused by a critical thermal event but it just says "The previous system shutdown at 12:12:02 PM on ‎4/‎11/‎2015 was unexpected." so not terribly useful. The shutdown is just a sudden click, then a black screen, the it reboots and asks how I'd like to start windows.

okay so I tried that same thing really, peak temps were high 40s but only occasionally and it only gives me a cpu temp, no temps for anything else. Also where are these logs you speak of? I checked my documents but the folder contains nothing? does the free version have logs. I should also mention I'm not running a particularly resource heavy game, I'm playing fallout New Vegas with some graphics mods but have had no problems until recently. My rig also does the same thing with civ 5.

slight problem, when I run the power supply test it just stops and says "user cancelled" even though I did nothing, trying again only ends up with it getting stuck on "starting".
