Random Windows 8.1 Critical_Process_Died Error

For the past few weeks my desktop has been inconsistently getting this error. It only seems to happen when I'm on Firefox watching a video on Youtube then switching to a new tab or clicking anything on a page. It doesn't happen every time though, it's random and I can never expect when it will happen. After the blue crash screen I have to shut down my computer, go to the BIOS, and then put my SSD to the #1 boot priority again. After that everything is fine until repeat again sometime the next week or two.

Also before this error I always got Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal, I wanna say that I still get this from time to time but I don't remember how long since this one (gonna start writing down when.) I remember just updating Windows Update and then I got this new error.

EDIT: So I looked through the DMP files and csrss.exe is listed as the most likely issue for the crash today, but 12 days ago it was wininit.exe. Do I have a faulty CPU or is this a virus?

Also, I figured out that the Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal was because of Turbo Lane (cfosspeed6.sys) so I removed that.

I put together all the parts for this PC myself back in December and it was my first time. I am still not very computer savy. Computer specs:

Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5Ghz LGA 1150

Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM (2 sticks, so 16gb.)

MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB GDD

XFX TS 550w Full Wired 80+ Bronze PSU

Crucial MX100 256GB SSD (What I installed Windows on.)

WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan

Optical Drive

Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 Mid Tower Gaming Case.

Solution
also see if you can update this driver:
Focusrite audio USB 2.0 driver
\SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\ffusb2audio.sys Wed Sep 25 06:40:36 2013
it could be a direct cause of the bugcheck.

-----------
update your BIOS, it looks like your bios does not have the updates for the new haswell CPU that you are running.

new BIOS version from asus: (your version 1205)
Z97-A BIOS 2205
1. Implement 5th-Generation Intel Core Processors code
*Full support of the new CPU requires necessary driver updates.

it also looks like your system is having some issues with its sleep funtions.
but it is sleeping, you might want to do a restart of your system to see if it becomes more stable.

I would also run cmd.exe as an admin and run
powercfg.exe /energy...

The dump files are showing the same 2 drivers causing the issues. Try a repair install of windows and see if it fixes it. Also, what software do you have running as this may also cause the BSOD's? (AV software etc)

No AV software besides windows defender, any other software I use daily is to be trusted (Itunes, Ableton, Steam etc.) Thanks btw, I will try the repair install.

The repair install should fix the drivers. Good luck and let us know if successful or not.

I did a fresh install on my SSD after I moved anything I wanted to keep to my HDD. So far so good.

Welp, now it's just shutting down or restarting on it's own, no blue screen. ntkrnlmp.exe is what the dmp file says it is :(

I would also run cmd.exe as an admin and run
powercfg.exe /energy
and look at the report it generates.

the windows debugger does not like your copy of kd.dll
and the system bugchecked on a internal error, maybe the file has been corrupted/hacked by malware.

since you have windows 8.x run cmd.exe as an admin then
sfc.exe /scannow
then if there are any unfixed errors run
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
(this will get a clean copy of bad files from microsoft's update servers)

if you find corrupted files, then run malwarebytes or a virus scanner to try to figure out what corrupted them.
