I've been using a TP Link – W842ND for a while now but never had to port forward until now. After numerous failed attempts I called and emailed up my internet handler.
I live in an apartment and I signed up for ENSA (Embedded Network Solutions Australia) for my internet and electricity, speedtest says I'm with exetel. Anyways, I shot them up with an email regarding my port forwarding issues and they instructed me to buy a router with:
• Ethernet interface to Internet connection (this is the most important specification)
• Wireless-N and Wireless-G support
• 4 port Ethernet interface (for direct wired connections)
I bought a TP Link – TL-MR3420, but I'm still having no success.
Any suggestions on how I can successfully port forward?

Did you follow the directions in the user manual?

Tried the procedure on portforward.com?

Set a static IP on the device for which you need the forwarded ports?

Which application needs ports opened? What indication do you have that ports are not open? Any other details regarding the problem would be helpful.
