Samsung Smart TV has been working great with wireless connection for over three years with the same Cable Co. and the same internet provider, AT&T. Using a Netgear router. TV finds my network with no problem when checking the network settings but then will not connect. It has just suddenly happened. Neither Comcast or AT&T says it is their fault, but AT&T says I need to move the router closer to my TV. This is an impossible thing to do as the router is at my desktop computer and they are many rooms apart. I need advice please.

I just thought I would post this solution here after I spent several days and hours on the phone trying to get my Samsung Smart TV to connect to the internet. After having the television for 2 years with not problems at all, suddenly it would not connect to WiFi. The last tech at Samsung that I spoke with knew exactly what to do and my TV was back working and connection to the internet within a few minutes. He told me to reset the DNS to 8888.
Detailed instructions for the computer challenged community such as me:
On your TV remote, go to Menu, Settings, Network
Next select Network Settings, Start, IP Settings
Then select DNS mode and make sure the green check is on "manual"
Enter 8 8 8 8 and OK
Bingo, instant internet
(note - I also was told to click on Samsung Smart Hub in upper right corner. I had reset my TV and it needed to update and add back my programs)
I have a Samsung Smart TV Model No. UN553S6500 (a 2012 model)
NOTE: I adore people that know their jobs!♥ Thanks Chris!

I had this problem also, did everything I read so far. Nothing worked called Samsung, did a reset, no help. The Tech mentioned it could be the network card. Did some searching online and found one. Being a shade tree mechanic, i took the back off the set and found the network card, unplugged it at the card and at the board. Put it back together and it is working. Coincidence, don't know, but they have you unplug crap all the time. It is working great at this time, and I don't know if this would work for anyone else, but I am online now. I can even use the web browser which I could not before.

Used this code: 8 8 8 8 in DNS mode and worked straight away.
Have not had internet connection even though connected with an Ethernet cable for days.
Thank you.
