yesterday i started overclocking for the first time in my life.(RAm hyperx blu 4GB,hyper 212 evo cooler)first i overclocked it by raising the cpu ratio to 42 and set the XMP. i didn't do any tweaks for the voltages and it worked fine.ran stress test in intel extreme tuning utility and got max of 68c temp.ten i tried cpu ratio 44 and left the voltage auto..also worked fine..i watch a video on you tube and it was told there that leaving voltage auto could damage the cpu(max voltage was now 1.34...v according to aida64 and temp of 74max..)so i manually set it to 1.14v and restarted the pc.i got a bsod and i couldnt enter the bios after that..i had to restart and then the bios was accessible but it freezed as soon as it appeared..i had to clear the cmos to enter the bios again..im asking,what could be the reason for this and how could i resolve it..i really appreciate your help..
