So after trying to fix my PC and trying to find out what is wrong with it, I found that I can only boot up with only 1 stick of ram in. But the problem is that nothing appears on my monitor. If anyone could lend any help it would be great;y appreciated.

From the information provided I would assume that one of the sticks is defective. If the RAM sticks are larger than 2GB each, try booting each one individual to possibly pinpoint the issue. You might want to provide more information for people with more knowledge on this issue then myself.
Please be patient and read the whole story, I am very lost and need all the help I can get, thank in advance.
So as I have had my custom PC for about 2 years now when it failed on me yesterday. It shut off and would not turn back on. I figured that it has been 2 years and that the power supply has finally just failed. So today I take the computer over to my brother in-laws house too test out his PSU in my computer. When I take out my PSU I try the paper clip test and it works just fine. We put in his PSU and still nothing, even though both PSU's are working fine, both passing the paper clip test. So we then remove my GPU and the rig starts up just fine with his PSU. We then try to move the card to the other PCI slot to see if just one slot has burned out. Once we do that and start up the rig again, nothing. BUt we do hear a quick shortage. After that we try my old PSU only to see that it does not work in the rig, even withouth the GPU, probably a faulty 24-pin connector. So then we try out his old GPU and his old PSU in my computer. Everything starts up fine and all is well. Then we try to hook it up to my monitor via HDMI. That's when we had no signal with on board graphics or through the card. So we restart the computer, that's when the rig started to run on for about 7 seconds and shut itself off. Now I am stuck in this stage where it will turn on and off constantly until I turn it off manually. I really need help and I am completely lost. I really want to repair it but I just have no idea where to go from here. Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.
