I found a computer locally for sale for $200 bucks, I am about to build my wife a computer primarily playing Minecraft. My question is would this computer get me close to running Minecraft with decent fps at max settings or would I be putting lots more money into it and better off to buy parts and start from scratch? This computer does not come with an OS I don't think. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice.

Ahh I am shooting just to low. Budget is probably about 400 (already have a spare OS). So I'll pass on this, I wasn't sure if I could take it and drop another 200 or so and be on my way, but if its "the opposite of futureproof" I'll trust that and go back to my building from scratch plan. Appreciate the responses fellas.

I should phrase more clearly, I am not looking for decent or fancy, just that it will run Minecraft on max settings with decent fps. That being said I still might have to bump it up another 100-200, but it will literally be used for Facebook/Minecraft and nothing else so I am going to try and keep it cheap.
