Two High Static Pressure Fans in a Push/Pull Config?

Hi,

I know that high static pressure is essential to optimize cooling when installing fans in radiators or heatsinks. I have a Hyper 212 Evo and I would like to install two fans for a push/pull config. My question is: would it be optimal if I were to install a high static pressure fan as a push config, and a high CFM fan for pull config? My logic is: since the air has been pushed through the heatsink by the "push config fan," it's better and optimal to use high CFM fan on the other side (for the pull config fan). Basically, a high static pressure fan for "push," and a high CFM fan for "pull." Would that be the best cooling config? Or just install two high static pressure fans?

I thought since the pull config fan is not going to be restricted in moving air, it's better to install a high CFM fan since the air has been pushed through already by the push config fan (the high static pressure fan pushing air through the heatsink).

As I said - a second fan doesn't make that much difference. The 212 has been designed and made with one fan. Add another one if you want. Won't make much if any difference as to what you add.

The Noctua have a radiator between each fan. The coolers are huge. The design is such that they can run two slow fans instead of one fast noisy fan.

Push pull makes a very small difference to just push. The difference for the pull fan to be air flow or static pressure related makes no measurable difference.

I'd just stick with the pus fans that come with the cooler and take it from there rather trying to pre-guess results.

Are you saying push is better for all heatsinks in general, not just for the Hyper 212 Evo? For example: the heatsinks on NH-D14 and NH-D15. I mean, they come with two fans.

Push, pull won't make a Centigrade of difference wit the Radiator of Hyper 212 EVO. Replacing the stock fan with a higher CFM fan would help certainly.

Air Flow in your case is very important.


Putting high powered static pressure fans on the hyper 212 Evo will do nothing if you don't have proper Air flow.

As long as you have cold air going in the case and the heat being pushed out equally then it really doesn't matter if the fans are ''high static pressure'' or not.


IMO just skip getting powerful fans and just put good silent fans in a positive air flow setup for best CPU cooler performance.
