Hello,
I just recently did a fresh install of windows 7 and I keep getting failed windows updates, some are security updates ( can't remember the others). One of the error codes I get is 800b0100, there was one other one or more error codes but not home right now to check. I have tried several different times to install windows but keep getting the same thing. There was some fix tool windows suggested but that did nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

I think I may have found a solution. If it does not work I will try the link above. I will not be anle to do anything today though. Will try tomorrow and report back weather it worked or not.

Thanks

Tried one more time this morning. I noticed when I hit the space bar to boot from CD it said Windows 7 (EMS) only option I was givin. (What is it and could that have been my problem?) got that problem sorted out. I updated all update besides 1 with error code 80244019. Any ideas of how to fix this one.

Thanks

the most common cause for that is a virus that has turned off Windows Update, or another service on your computer that is needed by Windows Update.

to successfully remove any viruses that may be on your computer restart the computer and boot into safe mode,
one you boot into safe mode then scan for viruses and once finished removing any viruses (if their was any) then reboot your computer normally.

then you have to restart the services required by windows update (make sure you are logged in as administrator):
Open Administrative Tools by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Administrative Tools.

Double-click Services. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

In the Services window, double-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service.

On the General tab, under Startup type, click Manual, and then click Apply.

Click the Log On tab, and make sure the service is enabled in every hardware profile listed.

Click the General tab, click Start, and then click OK. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

In the Services window, double-click Windows Event Log.

On the General tab, next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected.

Next to Service status, check to see if the service is started. If it is not, click Start, and then click OK. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

In the Services window, double-click the Windows Update service.

On the General tab, next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected.

Next to Service status, check to see if Started is listed. If it is not, click Start, and then click OK. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

In the Services window, double-click Software Licensing.

On the General tab, next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected.

Next to Service status, check to see if Started is listed. If it is not, click Start, and then click OK. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Close the Services window, and try to install Windows updates again.

This is a fresh install. I used Derek boot and nuke first on the drive. It's not all the updates only a few. So I don't think that it would be a viruse
