I have heard of the 7850k's value for money. I have been considering using it for a future build, but is the 7850k a good processor for 30fps low settings gaming(aaa titles such as bf4)
Also, would the next generation apu's be on the fm2+ platform?

Solution
You won't get a 7850k for that budget I'm afraid

@ bmacsys

you mite be correct., if you buy from micro center you can get a free motherboard With a FX6350(109) or FX6300($89) bucks little bit better?.

But Yeah There is better options then A10 7850k this thread creator could do if he really wanted to get the best performance for money.,However APU's are easiest for entry level Gaming Pc's for the lowest settings IMO.

I'm sure we could look up the best deals for computers all day,its my hobby :p

I live in New York near several Microcenter's. The free motherboards they bundle aren't worth the boxes they come in. That's why they are pushed in bundles.

Yes it is
tweaked Medium settings at ~40fps is easily doable if overclocked(depends on the game of course)
do not get lower than 2133MHz ram

There have been rumors for some time of Carizzo based APUs coming to FM2+ socket but that's the end of the line.

but as bmacsys pointed out
A similarly priced and better performing combo is an Athlon 860K with an R7 250X or better

A Motherboard is a Motherboard, those free motherboard have awful features but will get the job done with no overclock.

I wouldn't buy the AMD with the free mobo myself but it still isn't a bad buy....Granted not the smartest buy :)
