I own a 160GB Western digital hard disk drive, which on its backside has legacy power connector and sata power connector. I recently realised i should not have connected both, though it worked perfectly fine for 6-7 years. I also recently started having the following problem. Having installed windows on the above hard disk, i startup my pc , then it reaches the starting windows( windows 7 ) screen, and there's a sound coming from the hard disk for millisecs , followed by a blue screen which appears for millisecs. Is that a problem caused by my connecting both power connectors to the disk? If yes, what can i do? Is it broken and inoperable now?
