Im thinking about trying another build to replace the last computer from 2010 (which ill still keep, it runs well).
I tend to overthink and it takes forever to place my order. I want to be able to play games at the best settings.. I am thinking about getting maybe a 28 inch (or more) 2K monitor of some sort, with the hopes of eventually getting another one. (Im currently using two 23" monitors and I kind of got used to having multiple screens). Other things I do is stream a lot of video, have lots of webpages open, and then a couple of other applications. I use it for music and movies a lot also. I want a fast, future proof downright tough PC thats gonna last. I currently have an antec 600 case. not sure what to get for this build. Can anyone tell me if the parts i picked will work well together, or if Im making a poor decision on any of them.. or if any overall changes should be made. I also would like to know opions on a case to get. I think i have about 20 inches of vertical clearance. maybe a smidge over. Also, would this build be easy to midly overclock and how hard is it to actually make that happen? What other peices am I missing in order to finish this build (ie: coolers, cables, etc..)? And lasty, what kind of performance can I expect from a build like this? Nothing is set in stone yet for me. Thanks for any help!

look at the cosair cases like the r300. newer gaming cases have space for long gpu and cable. most of the gaming cases have 120/240 fan mounting on top and two fans in push/pull set up.
MOTHERBOARD: MSI ATXDDR3 2600 LGA 1150 797 gaming 7 $180
if you can wait the newer intel 100 1151 mb and skylake cpu are dropping. the brodlake/haswell 1150 are ending.
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2X8GB 1866MHz DDR3 $121
newer 100 mb are ddr4 ram.
CPU: i54690K Intel i5 $235
for cpu/mb combos look to micro center.
GRAPHICS CARD: Saphire Raedon R9 290 4GB $295
amd r300 line is coming...google info...

sigh.. i dont exactly know.. I already am over what i was hoping to spend. this started as me wanting to update my monitor and graphics card. I would like to pay $70 bucks for a case if it will suffice without any real sacrifice, but if $120 or more needs to be spent I guess i would. I wish i had a better answer on budget. If there was a way to go thats cheaper, with as much bang, than the way i went... Im all ears. I just know i want to be thoroughly impressed by upgrading to this build.. Im hoping itll make me want to convert to PC gaming over console gaming because of how stunning the graphics are. But Im also not made of money.

cx is the lowest like look at xvx or sesonic or little higher power supply.

keep an eye out on the m2 ssd drives there faster then standard ssd.

I think that that should go for an upgrade, rather than a new system. I would upgrade your RAM to 8GB (as long as it's DDR3, it's good) and go for a good graphics card (GTX 750ti are good but you can go higher if you want, you could even go for the R9 290). This will give your PC heaps more performance and is much cheaper than a new system. If it doesn't satisfy you, at least you can transfer the parts to a new system but it would be a big difference since the RAM and graphics card are holding your pc back.

I recently went from a GT 440 to a GTX 750ti with a dual core Phenom ii x2 555 and that made a world of difference (smooth 1080p gaming at medium-high for Battlefield 4 eg). With your quad core, I think your PC has plenty of life ahead of it.
