Help with Graphics Card with HDMI output for older dual core computer

Solution
Most games can not use past 4GB so you should be safe but there are new games coming out like Star Citizen that will require more memory. If you can get 8GB and can afford it then you might consider it. You might just save your money for a new system though because that one is kinda old.

I didn't mean to post twice. I *might* game on the computer, and the graphics card (the PCI express one) is pretty cheap and that way I can have it hooked up to the monitor (in case I want to sit at the desk) AND the TV (if I'm lounging/playing games).

Will it take system memory? or Add to it?

I'll max out the memory at 4GB, but I want it as fast as possible, because with a 2.71 GHz dual core and 4GB that's not terrible.

You are awesome thanks for the straight answer Jim.

Just very light gaming, besides, the graphics card is anywhere from 15 dollars more, to 30 dollars less than the adapters, depending on which one.

Again, thanks Jim, youve been a big help.
