Help...I cant open anything on my PC

Ok so ill start at the beginning, i had no more space on my SSD so i got rid of my hibernation setting and cleared up 6 GB on my SSD. I was super pumped and decided to update lots of things that i had not had enough space to update before. I updated Steam, Emsisoft and Itunes. I also downloaded a movie.(I think this is what messed it up). So after all that i tried to watch the movie that i had downloaded and it said Windows media player was not working. So i redownloaded it and it still did not work.Then i tried to open Steam and it would not open. I then tried to open some other programs and i got a message "win32 not valid" or something like that. I then tried to open chrome and it would open but nothing would respond to anything i did. The only anti virus that would open was Microsoft security essentials. I ran a full scan and it came up with nothing. I then restarted my computer in safe mode and and did the same thing, still nothing. In safe mode I don't get the "Win32 not valid" messages any more, the programs just wont open because of safe mode. I cant do a system restore because i did a disk clean up before this happened and cleared and restore point i may have had. Im not sure what else to do. Any help would be awesome.
