Hello, (First post here)
This is my pc,
GPU Gtx 760 gigabyte 2gb oc
MOBO GA-P61-USB3-B3
12Gg Ram
i5 2500 (non K)
Power Supply 850w
So, I am planning on getting a gtx 970 from msi, this one
http://www.pccomponentes.com/msi_geforce_gtx_970_gaming_oc_4gb_gddr5.html?gclid=CJmp4OXr88QCFUHmwgod2iQArA

, I asked on my local store, and they said that my MOBO has pci 2.0 and was too old, and I would lost so much performance, and they told me to buy a new mobo and CPU with the GPU, is that ok?
Because a friend of mine told me to buy that GPU, because I was not going to lose performance, anf if yes would be minimal,
What do you think? (I am thinking in upgrading mobo and cpu in some months but first the gpu)

Thanks in advance!

You can look around the internet for the various results, but many tests have been done to compare performance between PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 and the difference in performance was often 1% or less. If your current setup is otherwise serving you well, no need to upgrade the CPU / mobo.

The performance loss is marginal, and you have no reason to upgrade your CPU/mobo just for this. For now you will see a great improvement with the GTX 970, and in the future you can always get a CPU/mobo. As for the upgrade from the 760 to 970: I own a 760 and it is absolutely horrendous! It is extremely noisy and the performance is very lacking. With the upgrade, you will both see an exponential improvement of performance, and your computer will stop howling and growling all the time ;)
PS. The price on that 970 is very high, try and shop around to see if there are better prices.

and one more thing, is that setup ok for the 970? the only problem would be it`s size right? because I dont trust in those anymore!
