Hello guys,

When i unplug the cable from the SATA 1 port , this one just get stuck on the cable as a result the pins on the motherboard got broken and i cant plug that back cuz pins got all broken.

I have very bad luck..My question is there are other 2 ports on the motherboard that says SATA 3 and sata4..

Would there be a problem if i plug my main HDD on one of those other ports even if the main port got broken?

could there be any short cirtuit?

would it work on those ports by being my main HDD as it was?

PS: My motherboard is an asrock g31m-gs

Thanks in advice

SATA cables are backwards compatible, so yes, you would be able to connect your HDD safely.

One thing you may want to keep in mind is that you may have to change the boot order as you are changing the SATA connectors but It's really simple, it's in the BIOS.

Another question mate. sorry to bother. so there is no chance of short cirtuit right? do u recommend me to take those pins out or let them like that? they re like curvy or something

No don't worry, you're not bothering me. :) Would you be able to take a photo of it for me so I can see for myself?

Is this the broken port that you are talking about? If so, I would just leave it. It won't do anything unless something is plugged into it creating a circuit.
