Asus Rampage V Extreme or MSI x99s gaming 9 ack?

Solution
True, I used to build on MSI (along with my current standards, Asus, GB and the Rock) but MSI has been headed downhill since about 2009, they fell behind the Rock in sales and continue to fall sales wise.

Well I looked on new egg and it seems the reviews were lower due to boards being unstable and going out Within months. BUT I do think that 90 percent of people review only when there is something to complain about. It's hard to tell what the real ratio is on good vs bad boards

I will for sure it's gonna be an i7 5820k and evga 980 gtx and corsair 16gb ram... as far as what it can do. Idk. I'm now so I don't know what previous components are capable of. I do know I am buying a 800 dollar 1440p 144hz monitor so hopefully it can get the most our of it. Cause it this can't hit that then I wasted money on a monitor lol

Ok... I thought I read somewhere that games don't support sli cards? And the other processor sounds great but I'm over my budget already... so the only way I can pull this off is to find a cheaper headset that is good other than the turtle beach x seven... and a cheaper case than the cooler master HAF... any ideas?

There is no performance difference between running 16/16, 16/8 or 8/8 in SLI.

Also, check with the motherboard's specifications. Sometimes 16/16 is only possible with the first and fourth 16x PCIe, leaving a rather large gap between cards. This may or may not be a deal breaker for some people.
