External Hard Drives not being recognized on my VAIO Pro Laptop

I have a problem with my Sony VAIO Pro 13 Laptop, it can't read my external hard drives, my drive doesn't show up on my laptop. It just happened recently, my laptop recognize my hard drive before. I don't know what happen to my laptop, and the hard drive is okay with other computers. Please I need help

Make sure the external drive driver is installed and working properly - try Device manager to see.

Hi there Jenymackay,

You can start with just attaching the drive to another USB port.
If the issue persists, you can go to Device Manager as just i7Baby already suggested and uninstall the device. After that you can unplug the drive -> reboot your system -> plug the drive in again and wait for it to install automatically.
If the issue persists, you can update your USB drivers.
