I have this laptop Toshiba with Windows 7 that my family uses to play games, I've installed basic games like Plants vs Zombies, Cooking Academy, Mystery PI etc... recently I installed heavier search games from the website Big Fish and they're really slow, I tried installing a game called Rite Of Passage I checked the requirements before installing it and it should work fine but it takes forever to load, then when it does load the cursor is very slow and the parts of the game where a video plays as part of the story gets stuck.
I've tried changing the compatibility mode, using programs like GameBooster but nothing works, the only thing that helps a little is not playing the game in fullscreen but it still lags must of the time.

Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D-SP5808R
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
CPU: AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-60 / 2 GHz
RAM: 4 GB (originally 2GB I expanded it)
Graphics Processor: ATI Radeon X1250

That laptop will never play any newer games, it's too slow.

The video card in it is ranked in the 1000 here http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php

For a video card to be in spec for games, even at low settings, it should be in the 200 range.

The CPU is pretty slow, but it's not as bad of a CPU as the video card is as a video card now. That 64x2 in a desktop with a better card can probably handle some of the lighter games out now, say Diablo 3 or many Flash based games.

You don't have any issues here aside from simply having an old and slow laptop.

That's what I thought at first but I don't know much about video cards and I was looking for another opinion, thanks a lot for your help.
