Hi, i recently decided that i am going to make my first ever PC build though i am uncertain on what to get due to little knowledge about hardware.

My requirements for the PC include:
-budget < $2300 including monitor, mouse and keyboard
-1440p gaming
-smoothly run games like Battlefield 4 & Crysis 3

Optional
-able to record quality footage
-good quality video streaming

The parts i have picked so far (including monitor and accessories) are:

mother board: ASRock H97M Anniversary Motherboard
cpu: Intel Core i5 4690K
gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB
memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-2400C11D-8GXM (2x4GB) DDR3
hard drive: Western Digital WD Blue 1TB WD10EZE<X
psu: Cougar RS750 750W 80 PLUS Certified Power Supply
case: Aerocool GT Advance Mid Tower Case Black

monitor: BenQ GW2765HT 27in 2K IPS Monitor

accessories
mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse
keyboard: Gigabyte Force K3 Gaming Keyboard Matte Black

full list of parts on pccasegear here
this totals to $2245

Question i have:
1. amd or intel? i am tossing up between i5 4690k or AMD FX-8350 with 212X CPU Cooler. From my understanding so far, intel has much better strength in each core though i'm worried it will lack with future games using more cores also is more cores better for recording?

2. If i use the i5 4690k will i need an aftermarket cpu cooler when playing games like battlefield 4 (not planning to overclock straight away)?

3. Does the gtx 980 sc need an aftermarket cooler or is the stock good enough?

4. Are their any recommendations you have such as using different parts?

5. Is everything compatible with the motherboard and case?

p.s I live in Australia

I am planning to buy a SSD later.

and with AMD it requires more power to run, will 750 watts be enough?

Includes SSD. I switched to a xeon i7 as it's better suited to streaming, and as the xeon isn't overclockable I went and changed the mobo and psu to something cheaper but still decent.

You should be putting the OS on the SSD, so it doesn't make sense to buy it later.

thank you!
questions i have:
i noticed the 980 you listed is a bit lower than the super clock edition will this still run well on 1440p?

and is 600 watts high enough or will it drop the overall performance?

You can always overclock the cheaper gtx 980, even out of the box there's only a 4% difference between them which will translate to almost nothing in fps terms. I don't think the factory superclock justifies the extra $60

600w is plenty for the build, you could actually run it on a good quality 450w as the xeon and gtx 980 aren't very power hungry

Answering your questions:

1. amd or intel? Intel. get a cpu cooler as well.

2. If i use the i5 4690k will i need an aftermarket cpu cooler when playing games like battlefield 4. A cpu cooler is like chocolate sprinkles on ice cream, it makes the build better so yes it is advised.

3. Does the gtx 980 sc need an aftermarket cooler or is the stock good enough? Stock should be fine if your not ocing straight away.

4. Are their any recommendations you have such as using different parts? Buy a 120-256gb ssd to store your games and OBS on and a hard drive (1tb sounds good) to store your recorded streams and other stuff.

5. Is everything compatible with the motherboard and case? Use pc part picker to confirm it. The websites really helpful.

p.s. send us a link to your twitch stream! good luck hope you do well.
